For those who like late nights, socialising and meeting new people, this immaculate little “locals” bar fits the bill perfectly. Benalmadena (known locally as “Little England”) has a very high expat population, so this bar benefits equally from both the resident and tourist trade. Needless to say, bars and restaurants here are keenly sought. Located in a large square surrounded by large residential and holiday apartment blocks, and fronting a large gardened square, the atmosphere here is relaxed and informal.
This bar appears small, but appearances can be deceiving. Inside it can seat twenty (more than enough to create an atmosphere) and it has a massive terrace area with seating for over forty! The present British owner opens the bar for a couple of hours at lunchtime, then reopens from 2000 to the early hours. He makes excellent profits from wet sales and compliments this with sandwiches, toasties and pies prepared in a small area behind the serving bar which is equipped with a glasswasher, microwave, overhead extractor unit, ice fridge and bottle fridge. It’s also worth noting that the bar’s coffee machine is overworked preparing numerous “coffee and brandies”! The very low monthly rental and general low overheads mean this business would be a nice little earner for those who don’t mind the late nights.
